First Snow Day of 2011

First I wanted to say Happy Birthday to Nonnie... we love you and hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Last night it started snowing and they predicted inch-ES of snow and we woke up to this....

I think we ended up having 4-5 inches of snow!!!  And of course we were out of school so we ended up having friends over to go sledding!

It was my family of course...

Marybeth and Brandon and their 3 kids (Ellie, Ethan and Eli)

Clay and Whitney

And Paige and Brian and their 2 kids (Nathan and Morgan).

The kids were soooo excited and running around the house.  They couldn't wait to get outside and play in it!

My mom got Lucy this baby sled and she liked it for a few minutes but wanted to be held or get out for most of the time.

Lucy and one of her favorite people Clay

Karis was a daredevil again today...she LOVED sledding!!!

Snow angels....

Nathan was quite the sledder too!

We were sledding down this long hill...and the lake had dried up so there were paths through those trees you see onto the dried lake.

Clay decided to try this....

...and this is right before he BUST-ED!

Lucy trying to eat the snow...

There they go again!

But somehow they didn't go through a clear path but through the woods.  All I heard when they got up was Karis saying, "NOT FUN-NY!"

Clay and Whitney hittin' the trail...

The girls...Whitney, me, Paige and Marybeth

She kept sliding down and was O-VER it!

 We had some snowball fights...

And some of the girls warmed up in the car.  Lucy thought she was queen bee!

Marybeth loved her some sledding too!

Some of the kiddos...

Jay and I sledding...

We ate lots of snow (including me!)...

Then there were races...

After a couple of hours we came in to warm up, eat chili for lunch, we made snow cream, coffee and brownies. We played the Wii and the kids played while the adults chatted.

Snow Cream
1 gallon of snow
1 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk

The Potts ended up staying all day....the kids played, we ordered sushi for dinner (the guys went to pick it up) and we watched the game.  And as if the kids didn't have enough of each other, we found out the kids didn't have school tomorrow so they wanted to have sleepovers!  So the girls stayed here and Brayden went to spend the night with Ethan and Eli.  Looking forward to another snow day tomorrow!
