Happy Halloween!

I am not a "Halloween" fan per se, but we do let the kids dress up and go treating with friends. Tonight we had several of our small groups get together from church and we had dinner together, passed out our church fliers and then rode around on a big trailer and went treating.

I am not very creative when picking out costumes so when Karis told me she wanted to be a cheerleader (for the 2nd year in a row), Brayden wanted to be a baseball player, and I already had a matching costume for Lucy, I didn't argue!  Although all of their teams were different at least they were all blue and white!

Since it was Halloween, I let Karis put on all the makeup she wanted and she was thrilled!

These sweet girls took my kids around to the houses...they were wonderful!

While the women and kids rode in the trailer, all the men rode in the back of the truck.

Karis' book

Karis has started making her own books.   She has always loved to draw and now that she is learning to read, she is having fun making things.  At school they have been learning about authors/illustrators so she had to include that...it was more important than the title haha!

Author Karis
Illustrator Karis
Lucy Goes to School (written by Jay)

It says, "Lucy I have to put my jacket jakit on."  (She wrote the word jacket twice.)
To be continued...I know you are on the edge of your seat.  I know I am. :)  Precious!

Meet our new pet...

Check out our new family pet, a fish named Sally!

Look closer.......

You can kinda see Sally here but OH NO!  The bag busted and Sally must soon find a new home.  :(

When the kids were bathing, they were using their imagination and told me we had a new pet fish Sally. Sally is a plastic fish that bathes with them daily.  At first they were playing with the empty bag and Sally was invisible and then they added the plastic Sally.  **Wink Wink...I LOVE plastic pets! *Wink Wink :)

Jerseys, strollers, funnies and that famous girl....

This week is Red Ribbon Week and today was jersey day so Karis wore one of Brayden's jerseys that his Uncle Jonathan bought him.  She was concerned that she might be the only girl wearing a "boy" jersey so she wore her hair in pig tails (her daddy's favorite).  She looked so cute!

As I was taking pics of Karis, Lucy just came up to her and gave her a huge hug and I was there to catch it...it was so sweet!

Brayden had to wear his "jersey" like sissy.  He has become very adamant about hugging his sissy before she leaves for school.  I NEVER wake him up so sometimes he wakes up after she has already left.  He runs downstairs in a panic and says, "MOM!  Has sissy already left????"  When I tell him yes she has already left, he breaks down into an all out dramatic cry like he will not make it through the day.  So these good-bye hugs are VERY important to him.

Lucy wore these glasses all night last night around the house but I couldn't catch it on camera.  She found them again today and wore them for a long time.  They sure look goofy but she loves them!

Hugs.....

...and kisses!

I cleaned house today so the babies enjoyed getting into all kinds of things like this new clubhouse....

You can tell by Ax's face that they felt like they were living on the edge (and they were)!

Lucy even brought her stroller in there...don't think she got very far but she tried nonetheless!

I was noticing this afternoon Lucy's hair looked funny from the front and then when she turned around, I realized why!  LOL!  I told you she loves those crazy sunglasses!

Lucy enjoyed being carted around in her doll stroller today by her sissy this afternoon...I am afraid she has far outgrown it!

Brayden said some funny things I had to document.  There were about 5 of them but as I sit down to write, I can't remember them all of course.
  • Today one of the boys happened to wear some pants that fell to his ankles at one point.  Brayden was telling Jay about it tonight at dinner and said, "Dad...it was a-larious! (hilarious)"  And he was so serious!
  • B got in trouble today for something...not even sure which time it was but when I asked him why he did it, he replied, "My brain told me to mom!"  Bad excuse B, bad excuse.
  • Today we had a tornado warning and I had to lock up all the kiddos in the hallway (with lots of snacks and cups of course for entertainment) while I watched the news to see what was going on.  OH you should have heard them (Brayden and Trey) discussing tornadoes!  It was hilarious!   I can't even remember all that was said but I do remember Brayden asking me after it had already passed, "Is that tornado going to be in my room?"  I assured him it was not.  He said, "Ok mom but if you see one coming, come and get me ok?!" I will son, don't worry.  I will.
  • As I was putting him to bed tonight, I had already gotten in my comfy clothes and pulled my bangs back in a bobby pin.  I got close to him to kiss him good night and he says, "Mom you have lines on your forehead.  Why?"  (talking about my wrinkles) I just said under my breath, "Thanks b, thanks."  Jay said I should have said, "YOU gave me those!"  Someday I will tell him that, someday (if I live to do so!)  haha

Tonight after dinner I went grocery shopping and took Karis and Brayden with me.  Karis spent the rest of her bday money on this GloDoodle...

...and the remaining on this.  Yea thats right...ugh!
Let me begin by saying the only reason I let her get it was because she can't read good!  So I know she will only look at the pics.  She couldn't remember the girls name on the front (nor could I) but she said, "I love this girl!  She is that famous girl...you know that singer!"  She came home and showed it to Jay and said, "Look dad!  She is the prettiest girl I have ever seen!"  Oh me... we are in for it.  I am not sure I am ready for this!!!
