Karis' prayer chain

Lucy sees her sissy coloring all the time and always wants to do it too.  So tonight while Karis was coloring, I sat Lucy down at the table and let her color too!

Lucy's first masterpiece (at 15 months)!

I got this in the mail today and I am a little confused...do they know I am only 31?!  I hope they got the wrong chick!

Now for the real reason for this post...Karis made a prayer chain at church a while back and we have prayed through the whole thing and she has been wanting to make another one.  So tonight I told her I would help her make one.  She cut the strips for us and then named people she wanted to pray for and I wrote them out and we assembled it together.  She tears one off each night when we do our family devotion/prayer time and prays specifically for that person.

She came up with these names, not me. I helped only when she asked for help.  She chose Mimi (her great grandmother who is already passed), Pap, Pawpaw (her great-grandfather who recently passed), Lucy, Dad, Brayden, Mom, herself, Lolli, Pop, Nonnie, Pop-Pop, Aunt Jessie, her cousins Katie and Kaycee, her gymnastics coach Coach Kim, Uncle Jon-Jon and Aunt Jenna, Uncle Matt and Aunt Tiffany, Uncle Allen, Grandmother and Pinto, Grace, Levi and Lindsey and their baby, Matt and Megan  and unborn Gideon, her Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Latham and assistant Mrs. Amy, her friends at school, our Pastor Brian, and Pastor David (worship leader).

I am so proud of this girl!  I hope the Lord continues to give her a heart for the Lord and for others and that the Lord will save her at a young age.

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  Mark 11:24

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16

"If you believe, you will recieve whatever you ask for in prayer."  Matt. 21:22

Random Monday

My post today is all over the place so excuse me from the beginning.  This morning we woke up to seeing this out our kitchen window in the tree....

Look closer....
This is the best pic I could get of it but it was a HUGE owl!  I kept seeing something moving in the tree and thought it was a cat or raccoon and then realized what it was.  It kept turning it's head and it's eyes were HUGE!  The kids loved seeing it and we even got to see it fly off.  It was so neat.

------------------------------------
Brayden did NOT have a good day today.  I think it was a combination of his allergies, asthma and lack of sleep.  But tonight when Jay was talking to him about his bad choices today, he said something really funny.
Jay:  "Brayden why did you have such a bad day today?"
Brayden:  "They were just being wild and acting up!"
Jay: "They who?  WHO was acting up?"
Brayden:  "My ALLERGIES dad!  They were just acting bad."
Yes he is talking about his allergies like they are people.  Those darn allergies...he blames them every time.  He is one smart fella!  haha And no, we didn't believe that excuse.  Try again son!

---------------------------------------

When I went to get Lucy up from her nap today this is what I saw when I opened up the door....

She had her shirt up over her neck!  I have no idea how this happened!!!

"WHOA!  What happened here???"

-----------------------------------------

Last week my computer crashed and yes, I lost everything.  The only thing I am upset about are the pics...about 3,000 of them.  However you all know I take lots of pics so those are just from the summer.  I do have them however on Facebook and the blog they are just not as easily accessible.  We had to replace the hard drive and I got my computer back today. So tonight I have been trying to get all my stuff on my computer back in order...pain!

PLEASE back up your computers!!!  I know I will from now on!  The sad thing was that I was just thinking last week I needed to back them up to our external hard drive, but I put it off and now I am paying for it!  UGH!

And last but not least, my mom posted a new blog today about how she and my dad got their "grandparent" names Lolli and Pop!  Go HERE to see it!

Fishin' with Uncle Jon-Jon and Aunt Jenna

We were pleased when Jonathan and Jenna (my brother and his wife) decided to come out for the afternoon to eat dinner, visit and fish with us.  Karis spent the night with Mari-Morgan tonight so Brayden and Lucy loved having them over.  Brayden was more than thrilled when he found out we were taking them fishing.

Brayden challenged Uncle Jon-Jon in some soccer....

Lucy liked getting to pick up rocks and throw them in the lake...

Jenna watching Jonathan put the cricket on the hook.  Her face resembles what mine probably looked like watching it!

Jenna caught a fish!

Jenna's catch of the day...

Jonathan caught one or two or four.

My two favorite men in the world are starting to resemble each other in looks and mannerisms more and more each day.  Here they were standing just alike although I couldn't capture it very well.  I love these two!

Treasure Hunt

This morning we went to our local park for a playdate.  Karis is going through Mari-Morgan withdrawals and vice versa so we met up with them to enjoy the weather.  This is our favorite park around town and we were surprised with many renovations/additions since the last time we have come.

I found out that our city was voted the healthiest city in Mississippi so we were given some money in grants which have paid for these awesome renovations.  New walking tracks have been added as well as a restroom facility.  In addition, they have put these signs/activities around the walking track....

There are some really cool learning activities to do with kids while walking the track as well as they have painted the track to go along with the signs.  For example, the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors and other things are added as part of the activities.

Brayden's fav part is always finding frogs around the lake and feeding them to the fish.

Little Miss Independent enjoyed it as well....

The girls had a ball as well.  These two love each other so much!

Nathan had football practice so the girls were so sweet to let Brayden play with them.  As we were walking the new trails, the girls decided to go on a treasure hunt.  They found all these lovely things....

But THIS treasure surpasses them all!!!!  Isn't the doll they named Gracie (b/c she sure does need ALOT of grace) just adorable????

Check out the rear view!
They were so excited to find her and were so proud to show us their favorite treasure of the day!  Since she was dirty (just a tad) they decided to clean her off.  So how did they do that???  Just wash her in the lake of course.  I am not convinced she was any better from her bath, maybe just muddier!  They wanted to take her home and fix her up but thank goodness we convinced them to hide her until next time we come.  Oh someone please go do away with her before we come back!!!

Oh and look...Lucy found some treasure too!  LOL

Playdate and GNO

Today we had some friends come over along with the usual crew so it was a fun, mad house around here.  We had 3 adults (me, Marybeth and Amy) and 8 kids (my crew-Brayden, Lucy, Axton, Trey and Landon, Marybeth's Eli and Amy's Story and Meilah) and it was so fun!  We played outside most of the morning and came inside some for the afternoon.

Ax was giving Meilah the sweetest hugs when they got there...

The boys were acting goofy as always...

Story is 2 and she is so adorable!  Her and Lucy were 2 peas in a pod...they are both so prissy and girly it was cute to watch them in action.

Story was changing all the baby doll's diapers and Lucy was watching intently!

Then Lucy proceeded to put a diaper on herself...although I am afraid she has it in the wrong place!  LOL

This is my sweet friend Amy and her daughter Story...

Amy and I decided to straighten MB's hair and it looked soooo good!  She was a smokin' hot mamma!

This is Amy's other daughter Meilah and she is almost 5 months...she is sooo cute!

Tonight we had a GNO (Girl's Night Out) which I have been looking forward to all week!  We went to Olive Garden for dinner and then went back to the church to play Taboo, drink coffee and just chat.  It was a blast and it was over way too fast.  We need to have those nights way more often!   Us moms need some adult conversation!!!
