Since it is a 14 hour drive home, we decided to stop in to Destin for a few days to break the trip up. We have some friends that have condos in the area and they were very kind to let us stay there. It was a great retreat to our recently very busy lives.
Fall is a GREAT time to come to the beach! There are hardly any crowds and the weather is just perfect, even a little chilly in the mornings and at nights. We had the pool to ourselves and most of the beach. Where have Fall vacations been all my life?!?! {Oh I remember...we were in public schools! Just another great reason to homeschool you can vacation whenever you want!}
