Thanksgiving 2015!

Living overseas is often hard around holidays but we try to make the best of it and enjoy and be thankful for what we do have.  We are grateful for our friends here and thankful for FaceTime to talk with our family!

We hosted Thanksgiving for the first time this year and it was a lot of fun for me!  I enjoyed crafting and cooking ahead of time trying to make Thanksgiving day as stress free as possible.  We weren't sure if we would have a turkey or not this year but thankful a friend found a place to order them from for us.  But this wasn't just any 'ole turkey it was a SIXTEEN pounder!  It was huge!!!

It barely fit in our oven!

Wish these girls had a little more personality ha!

We had fun with all these little turkeys!

We ate TWICE actually and played a little cranium in between!

After all of our guests left, we face timed with our family and got to talk to Jay's grandparents.

Also the morning of Thanksgiving I got a call from my mom saying to call her.  She told me that my dad was having emergency knee surgery due to a really bad infection in it.  He spent Thanksgiving day in the hospital.  He is doing well now and at home recuperating.  The good news was that he got to watch football all day ha!  Love you daddy!

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We are so grateful and thankful for so much!

Touring this side of the globe….

Today we went to several really cool places within a couple of hours drive from our house.  It was a day full of fun!
This is a place translated "cotton".  It is a natural hot spring and is BEAUTIFUL!  The kids and I took off our shoes and waded in it for hours.

We also toured several Biblical sites and one of the 7 churches.  It was amazing.

This is a tomb that was recently discovered that was one of Jesus' disciples.

I think we counted 9 brides we saw that day.  Lucy got her picture taken with at least two...

And this is an unexcavated Biblical site that we will call Colo.

From the top Jay read to them from scripture what actually took place in this relative location.  It was really special.  The kids probably won't truly appreciate it until they are older and realize the benefit of living on this side of the world.
