Day trip to Washington, D.C.

We were thrilled to get to spend the day in Washington, D.C. on Black Friday!  The kids have looked forward to it for several weeks and have even been learning about it in their classes!  They didn't even mind the bus trip there because they got to ride it with their friends!

Riding the Metro/Subway....

The streets were beautiful and the architecture of the buildings was exquisite!

We ate lunch at this Mediteranean Restaurant and it was really good!

The Capitol building...

Love all the souvenir shops and food trucks on the streets...

Lots of modern art around the parks...

Outdoor skating rink...if we had more time, we definitely would have done this!

Historic Carousel...

There were lots of museums we would have loved to visit too but time didn't permit.

We loved getting to see the White House!!!!  It was one of the highlights of our trip!

Slide, anyone?!

Treasury building...

Washington Hotel...

It was a cold 40 degrees and windy so we stopped in Starbucks for some hot beverages and a snack to warm up...hot chocolate and cake pops for the littles and coffee for mom and dad!

It was a wonderful day!  We would have loved more time but were thankful we got to experience a "first" together.
