Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving in Corinth seeing Jay's family.  We had a great time as always and this year especially.   Karis and her cousin Evie had the time of their life this year because they are both old enough to remember each other and look forward to their time together.  Evie is almost a year older than Karis and lives in New Jersey so they only get to see each other once a year.  We spent most of Thanksgiving day eating LOTS of delicious food and spending time with the family.  The weather was gorgeous so we decided to get the kids out of the house and made it a family project....looking for pecans in Grandmother's backyard.  The kids were working HARD and didn't even realize it.  Jay even made a contraption to throw up into the trees to shake them and get them on the ground.  It was raining pecans!!!

In Corinth there are LOTS of trains.  Every time Brayden heard one, he came running to me from across the yard and did this....

Pop-Pop (who had surgery the day before) taking just a second to see what was going on outside.  He couldn't stand missing out on all the fun.

The kids playing in the ditch.  Karis loved the fact that her daddy used to play in this same ditch when he was a little boy.

My handsome hunter...

The Jungle Book and Library

This morning we went to see "The Jungle Book" at SBEC and the kids loved it even though they haven't seen the movie.  We actually got to sit on the front row and we were really close to the cast.  Brayden sat in my lap the entire time and did not move a muscle.  He was amazed at all the kids and animals.  Karis loved it too.   Funny story....before it started a lady got up on stage and said, "Welcome....(yada yada yada)...without using any words, boys and girls, who has seen The Jungle Book?"  All the kids raised their hands.  Well halfway through the play, I turned to Karis and whispered, "Do you like it?"  She looked at me with her finger over her mouth and said to me, "SHHHHH mom...she said NO WORDS!"

Notice in this picture Brayden was not looking at the camera.  He was eyeing that TIGER that he was scared of.  He would not take his eyes off of him for anything.

Afterwards the kids and I went to Chick-Fil-A with Paige and Mari-Morgan and let the kids play for a while while we chatted.  Then the kids and I ran some errands and then I took them to the library for a few minutes.  They wanted to check-out the movie "Jungle Book" now that they had seen the play (I guess it should have been the other way around huh?).

Karis playing on the puppet show

Brayden was wanting to play on the puppet show like sissy, but you can't even hardly see him over the wall.  He IS quite the actor...I found out later on he was leaving me a present in his diaper!
Fun day kiddos!

14 weeks

I went for my monthly check-up today and actually saw the nurse practioner instead of my regular doctor, whom I really liked.  Anyway, very routine check...urine sample, blood pressure check, and then she comes in to listen for the baby's heartbeat.  She did find a heartbeat quite quickly as normal, although she heard TWO!!!  I panicked and said, "ARE THERE TWO IN THERE???"  She said, "I am not sure..hold on...let me check."  As she moved it around, realized that one was MINE and the other was the BABY...and they were in sync although the baby's was twice as fast as mine.  Talk about a heart attack....I about had one!  So a little scare although I wouldn't be too terribly upset once I got used to the fact I guess.  But there is just ONE little miracle in there and we are thankful for that one.  Thank you Lord.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brayden is loving school these days.  In fact we were informed today by Brayden's teachers that he is quite the ladies' man...hugging on every girl he comes in contact with whether he knows them or not!!!  They also told us that he has the personality award in his class.  I don't know if it is too early to train a 2 year old not to flirt...but if there is a way...I guess I better be finding it!  The child is two and is going to give me gray hair very soon!!!

We are so proud of you!

Karis had her show day at gymnastics today and she did so well.  We were so proud of her.  She got to show off all of her skills and she even got a medal and is promoted to the next class up...the bronze class.  She was glowing from ear to ear and we certainly were proud.

We put up our Christmas tree!

We normally wait until at least the week of Thanksgiving to put up our tree but last night I mentioned to Jay that I wanted to put it up early next week and 4 little ears heard me say it.  They have not let us forget it!  Karis BEGGED last night to put up the tree but since she didn't have such a good day yesterday, we told her we would put it up today.  She begged daddy at least 50 times before he ever put his feet on the floor to go get the Christmas tree.  So he did and we had so much fun decorating it.  This year they were both a great age and they both truly helped me without me having a heart attack while doing it.  Brayden kept saying, "SO PRETTY!"  This year he truly appreciated it!  SO with the Christmas music playing, cinnamon candles burning, and lots of decorations, we had a blast decorating our 2008 Christmas tree.  It is so hard to believe next year we will have a 7 month old "helping" out!

Karis (being my collector and organizer...wonder where she got that from???) was organizing all of the stuff we were getting out.  She said this was her "collection."

Happy 5th Birthday Drew!

Saturday we celebrated Drew Morris' 5th birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese and the kids wanted to go several days before it was ever time.  And even when we left...Brayden was saying, "I want to go to Drew's party at Chuck-E-Cheese!"
