New kitchen floor

Today we had some installers come out from Lowes to install a new kitchen floor.  It was an interesting day to say the least.  Trying to take care of all the kiddos while not going to the kitchen got tricky but we made it work.  Thank goodness it was a beautiful 70 degree day because we spent alot of our day outside.

I have finished my kitchen cabinets (thank goodness) and they look great but I will post close ups when the floor is finally complete.  You can see a little of them in these pics though.

This is a pic I took of Landon last week but it was too priceless not to add ha!  He loves his raviolis!

This was my view of the kitchen most of the day.  Although they weren't planning on it, they ended up having to take out the old floor and it ended up taking longer than they thought.  So as I sit and type in my living room, I am staring at the refrigerator, washer and dryer ha!

I will be glad to see this floor go!

Nobody minded spending the day outside!  We even had a picnic and that was definitely a hit.

Oh and I have totally forgotten to mention we bought a new family car (we still have our van too) a couple of weeks ago and we love it.  We used to have a Honda CRV and sold it when we got pregnant with Lucy.  But Jay needed a car so we bought another one.  It is a great car and we are Honda snobs (they are reliable and resell value is great).  We weren't big on the color at first (we wanted white or silver) but it was a 2008 and only had 22K miles on it so we had to go with this one.

Trey made a tent out of the old floor outside while eating ha!

Ax didn't want to stop playing baseball for me to take a picture.  He also had just closed his own finger in the door.  :(

As I type this is my view...

With the stove in the sunroom, there was no cooking going on here today.  I didn't mind ha!

My living room has the washer and dryer in it...

I am so thankful for the new changes but will be glad to get my house/kitchen/life back to normal! :)

MIA and Chaos

I am not, even though it may appear that way.  I know it isn't like me to be gone for a week on the 'ole blog, but I have been beyond busy (pressure I put on myself).

But before I explain, I had to post this more precious than words photo....
Seriously, be still my heart.

Ok so back to my reality right now...I am on a home renovation kick.  Our house needed it and I finally gave in.  Since last Friday I have painted our sunroom, entryway, den, kitchen, and Jay's office.  Also, I have decided to take on something I have wanted to do since we moved into this house 6 years ago...refinishing my kitchen cabinets.  Of course later I will have before and after pics but want to save those for that time.  I am currently on day 4 of a 10-14 day project and it is monotonous and time consuming but hopefully the finished product will be worth it! So I have spent very little time on the internet and my spare time is spent on my cabinets or with my family.

The other day when we were painting Jay's office, we let the kids write on the wall before I painted.  Karis wrote the sweetest thing on the wall.  You can't see it very good but I had to take a pic of it anyway.  It reads,
"I love my family so much I code squees them so hard they codend breth"
Translation: "I love my family so much I could squeeze them so hard they couldn't breathe! haha :)

Currently we are living in a world of chaos and kitchen cabinets....

The chaos is absolutely killin' me and the organization freak in me is having convulsions.  But we will get through this and will be so glad to see the final product!!!

An unexpected day at the park

Friday, due to some sicknesses and a teacher inservice day, we had three kids out today so (with parents permission of course) we packed up and headed to the park!  We don't get to get out much with all the kiddos so it was a wonderful, unexpected surprise.  And, of course, the kids were beyond thrilled!  We enjoyed the playground, did a nature hunt, walked around the lake, rode bikes, and just enjoyed the fresh air! Here are some pics from our day.....

I especially loved getting my K girl there with us today.  We sure do miss her when she is gone! :)

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a great Valentines this year.  We decided not to do "gifts" this year but just to do a little happy for each other.  But of course my hubby did more than he should. :)  He's sweet like that.  He brought me home a dozen white roses and some chocolates.  Then later in the day he brought me an incredibly sweet letter that made me cry and some money for me to be "crafty."  So thoughtful!

I gave him a wall decal with his favorite quote on it "The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you."  I wil post a pic when we get it up on the wall.

I started off the day cooking pink heart pancakes for my family and we all sat down and ate breakfast together.  They loved them!

The kiddos and I ate lots of sugary treats all day.  Yep everybody was on a sugar high all day!

Everett's mom brought these yummy homemade goodies...

Axton's mom brought this yummy cake....

And Trey's mom brought these yummy chocolate covered pretzels....

Hazel brought everybody Valentines...so sweet!

And of course no Valentine is Valentines without hearts.  But when did they start "sup babe?" Pretty sure that wasn't on hearts when I was little!

Karis before school....

Her Valentines to her class....

She came home with a bag of goodies....

And another look at these beauties...they had really opened up by the next morning and were so pretty!

Karis made this sweet Valentine for me and Jay....

Brayden picked me these from the yard because it had roses on them.  So very thoughtful but not the prettiest ones I have seen haha!  What a sweetie!

Another Valentine Karis made for me.  She is such a sweetheart!

Lucy has been complaining of her ear hurting so after work I ended up taking her to the doctor on Valentines night bummer (no infection though).  However when we got home, hubs had cooked dinner for us...chicken on the grill, sweet potato casserole and lima beans.  Spending time with my 4 Valentines is better than any gift!  They are such a blessing to me.
