Happy Bday Lexie and Friend Craft Day!

Our friend celebrated her 5th birthday party this week and we were so thankful to celebrate with her!  Her dad (a pro basketball player) and his other ball friend, did face painting on all the girls. It was priceless!

Part of the advantage and disadvantage of living overseas is having/getting to make your own decorations, especially when for two of the major holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) aren't celebrated here.  We had a craft day with some friends and it was so fun.  Karis and I loved every minute of it!

Thanksgiving 2014

One of the hardest things about living overseas is missing holidays.  But we are so thankful for the ways the Lord has provided for us in the absence of family.  We have such a wonderful support system and some American friends to celebrate American holidays with.  We are truly blessed and especially thankful this year.

I have NEVER seen a turkey this big.  It was THIRTY lbs!

We had all the American "fixin's" and it was soooo good.  Best food all year!

Now THAT'S a turkey leg!

It was big enough to share with a friend!

First Snow Day Winter 2014

We had a prediction of snow but thought sure it would get changed or it would miss us altogether but this particular day it didn't and it snowed for like 20 hours straight!!!  I think we got a total of about 18 inches but of course all of that didn't stick.  But it certainly was enough to play in and we were thrilled to go play in it!  We bundled up and headed outside!!!!

Such a fun day!!!

One day trip

We took a one day trip with our friend and language teacher, Gul and her mom to a nearby city a couple of hours away.  They made us a delicious traditional breakfast!

We toured a Biblical city that Paul visited and it was cool to see the history there.  Jay was able to fill us in on a lot of history while we are there (I am NOT a history person but he is).  It was so neat to be there!

We found a cross carved into the rock!

Jay was sooooo in his element!

Jay was reading scripture about the place we were standing to Gul and her mom…gave me chills!

Gorgeous rainbow we saw on the way.  Thankful for God's promises!

We found fall leaves!  Made us feel at home!
