Skatin' and Fishin'

Today's weather has been absolutely perfect...70's, sunny and a little windy.  I mean it couldn't be any more perfect and we are soaking it up!  We have had lots of fun today and we have some worn out kiddos!  First I had to share with you our first sprouts from the garden...snap peas!

Brayden calls this bike his dirt bike because it is a bike, you ride it in the dirt, and he has to wear his "dirt bike helmet."

He found a friend to play with...ribbit!  AND once today I caught him with it upstairs.  I.  DON'T. THINK. SO!!!  He laughed when I caught him doing it.

This afternoon we went to Mari-Morgan's 7th birthday party.

After snacks and cupcakes, we drove to the local skating rink to let the girls skate.  It was SUPER busy being Spring break and they were out of all the "real" skates in these girls' sizes.  So they had to wear the baby skates but they didn't seem to mind.  This is Karis' first time skating and she did great!  She just took right off and there was no turning back!

These two were little buddies!

This is a bad picture because it was so dark in there but I had to show these walkers they had in there.  They didn't have these when I was growing up but how neat!

Me and my girl with her newly pierced ears!

After skating we went back to their house to open presents.  Karis gave her some more pierced earrings!

Karis spent the night with Mari-Morgan so I took Brayden and Lucy outside this afternoon.  We just couldn't get enough of the weather...it will put anybody in a good mood!

We blew bubbles, played baseball and then walked down to the lake to let Brayden fish.

He caught 3 or 4 on his own and he was super proud.

We went around to the other side of the lake on the levee where Jay was building a fishing dock.  Lucy played, I helped Jay a bit while B fished.

The sun was beautiful on the water!

B caught another and was admiring him.  He also would tell me what kind of fish it was as he would catch them...bass, crappie, catfish, brim etc.  Jay has taught him well!

It was a perfect day!  Looking forward to playing outside again tomorrow on our last day of Spring Break.  It has been awesome!
