A day with the Anglins'...

Today we had some friends over for the day to enjoy the "country." Dave and Janet and company (4 kiddos) are moving to East Tennessee in just a month as church planters and we wanted to have them over before they left.  They have been friends of ours since we married and we were on staff with them for 3 years before we moved.   It was great to visit with them and have some adult conversation.  We grilled out, took all 7 kids fishing, played outside, rode bikes, jumped on the trampoline, and even practiced shooting a pistol (not the kids!).

The girls fished but didn't last as long as the boys.

Dave handlin' the crickets...

This is their youngest of 4, Gretta.  She is adorable and has the prettiest blue eyes!  She is a spitfire like Lucy (I guess the young ones have to learn to take up for themselves haha!).

Luke fishing...

Some of the gang...

Luke's first catch...

Sweet!

The girls (Karis-6, Gretta-almost 3, Lucy-2, Lily-4)

Brayden's catch...

The boys and their fish after a day of fishing!

When the boys got home from fishing, they got out the pistol for practice shooting.  Dave was teaching Janet how to shoot it.  Watch out world...sweet little Janet's got a gun!!!

This picture is fuzzy but I had to include it because as I was taking the pic of the kids watching the shooting practice, Janet standing next to me shot her first shot and it scared me so bad my camera shook and I got this picture.  It was LOUD and I wasn't expecting it yet so my heart skipped a beat ha!

The kids sat with their ears covered for the majority of it!

Wow what a fun day!  The Anglins have been such a blessing to us and are a fun bunch!  The good thing about getting together with people that also have kids is that you don't have to worry that your kids are the distractions because theirs are the same way and they totally understand.  We were able to relax and just enjoy one another's company!  It was great!  We will miss them so much when they move!
