Family date day!

We are so glad to be out of school for Christmas and to get to spend so much quality time with the kiddos.  We have several fun days planned since Jay is off work too and we were thrilled to get to take the kids today with a day "out" full of surprises.

Lucy has been wanting to get her ears pierced like her best friend Story but when I ask her if she wants to go get them pierced she will nonchalantly say, "no, not today."  But this morning I just randomly said, "Lucy, let's go get your ears pierced today."  She simply replied, "Ok."  I really didn't think she would go through with it but she never hesitated or questioned her decision...not once.  She was determined.  I will have a separate post following this with more pics but this is how we started off our family day.  She had 4+ cheerleaders as she did it!!!  This was minutes later when she was enjoying that sucker they gave her.

After we left Claire's, we walked around the Collierville mall for a bit before we went to eat lunch.  The kids loved these reindeers everywhere!

Then we ate lunch at "Red Robin....yum."  The kids can't quit singing that commercial.

I just couldn't get over how well Lucy did getting her ears pierced with barely any tears.  So proud of her!!!!

Then we headed over to see the movie Life of Pi.  It was slow at first but a great movie full of action and visual effects.  At one point I had an 8 year old curled up in my lap!   I loved that it was multi-cultural and that the plan of salvation was in the movie!

Then we went over to one of our most exciting surprises for the kids because we knew they would LOVE it.  A while back we had gone to this specific Sekisui and they saw the tables where you take your shoes off and sit at the table and have wanted to go since...like begging.  So we had made reservations and they squealed in excitement when they learned where we were going!  They all said it was one of their favorite parts of the day!

It was like we had our own private room and the kids could move around and not worry about bothering anyone else.  It was PERFECT!  And of course the food was all of our favorites!

Somebody's excited and geez...I wish he would go buy some personality for real?!

It was a great night of firsts too because they were so good about wanting to try new stuff.  Karis tried sushi and Brayden tried tofu.  Lucy wanted to try it too but we were out before she could try it.  They all love the onion soup, Lucy ate a salad, and they all had teriyaki chicken and rice.

Jay and I shared this masterpiece...

And all the kids used chopsticks without us even telling them to.  They love it and do great every time (way better than me!).

Then we had planned to go to Starry Nights but we waited in line for 20 minutes down a long line of cars and decided we didn't want to wait that long so we went and got ice cream at Yogurt Mountain instead.  The kids thought it was a great choice!

It was a great day with the people I love most full of memories, firsts, surprises, food and fun!  I love them so much it hurts!
