Christmas Family Splash

Tonight was the annual Family Christmas Splash and the kids look forward to this every year!  Each month this Fall, they have highlighted a specific country around the world and the whole night revolves around it.  We will do a craft that has something to do with that country, a snack and songs and stories as well.  This month was China and we had Stephen and Holly show us a video about China, told stories, taught us Chinese phrases and told us about their trip to China from 2010.  They also told us about Lottie Moon and how important that offering is!

Then we went to snacks and made Christmas cookies.  Because Lottie Moon died giving away everything she had and ended up starving to death, the kids made sugar cookies, decorated them and were instructed to give theirs away.  Great lesson for them!

Our friends Brandon and Eli...

Brayden gave his to Eli and Eli gave his to Brayden...

Then we went to crafts and made Chinese lanterns that they use for the Chinese New Year.

Lucy hammin' it up...

Then we ended the night by the kids singing Christmas carols because they are singing in our Christmas service this coming Sunday night.
Fun night...love making memories with my kiddos!
