Nasty to spic and span

We had big plans for today in our household...outside work day!  The outside needed some serious attention but it just has been so stinkin' hot outside we have put it off.  There is always lots to do on our large property but sometimes we have to pick and choose what gets priority.  Well today we had several goals and the kids were rushing us outside as soon as we got up...they were excited!

Goals:
  1. Clean out garage and declutter
  2. Clean inside and outside of windows, including screens
  3. Clean gutters, driveway and garage door with powerwasher
  4. Trim bushes
Us and outside cleaning have a love/hate relationship...We hate it at the beginning and love it at the end!

Our garage was NASTY!  It needed to be cleaned/cleaned out so bad!  We took everything out and off shelves and powerwashed the floor and decluttered as we put stuff back in.  I even used the magic eraser on the walls to get off those sweet little handprints. :)

This is after....we got rid of soooo much junk!

After the kids finished doing their outside chores, they were playing outside and found some kittens under our back porch!!!  We have an outside stray cat that we can't get rid of (seriously Jay caught her and drove her 15 miles away (twice!) and days later she came back!  So NOT joking!) and she continues to have kittens.  That poor cat!  They played with these kittens literally ALL day.  Brayden even cried when we had to come in at bedtime because he was going to miss them overnight and was afraid they wouldn't be safe overnight.  We had to remind him they were outside cats and they have been outside since the day they were born!

It was a GORGEOUS day to be outside!  We were outside all day and never broke a sweat.  It is sad that it was in the 80's and that was cool for us!

Afterwards we all came in and showered and then we surprised them with a trip to Krispy Kreme for a treat.  They love watching them being made!

Great way to end a great day!

  1. Your garage looks great! Maybe you could call the SPCA to get the cats and kittens. Sometimes this is kinder so they don't end up in a bad way. Sometimes they can end up in labs, injured and so on. Please consider helping the helpless. Thank you and I enjoy your blog. Mel
