July 4th weekend (part two)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Though I am thankful for our independence and our country on this day, I am more thankful for the freedom we have in Christ.   How blessed we truly are!

Sunday morning Nonnie gave him his birthday card since they weren't able to go to his bday party.  He was more than thrilled to get money so that he could go pick out something himself.

Waiting to go to church.  Katie was so sweet to Brayden and she had her arm around him while they were watching Up.

After church, we came back to the house and ate leftover BBQ and then went swimming again. Then everyone rested and played until we went to Grandmother's house.

We ate spaghetti dinner at Grandmother's and the kids played outside in her beautiful backyard.  Her backyard is one of Jay and I's favorite places...it is always so shady, beautiful, peaceful and relaxing.

The kids played bubbles...

...and frisbee.

And of course grocery store....

Miss Independent on Independence day....

We went and watched the fireworks by the golf course and they were good.  Lucy wasn't scared at all and just pointed to them.  Brayden liked them but covered his ears the whole time.  We headed home after the fireworks and the kids were asleep in about 5 minutes!

It was such a fun weekend!  We look forward to more time with the cousins at the lake house in a few days!  Woohoo for summer!!!
