Karis was the queen around here today and whatever she requested (within reason) she got. For example, she had a request on all 3 meals...and all 3 she got. That's how it is supposed to be once a year on your birthday!!!
She started off today with the request to have turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, jelly toast and chocolate milk for breakfast. So I cooked up just that and put it on the special plate that we use on birthdays and she really likes the tray, so I added that too just for kicks.
She liked it! :)
She eagerly got ready for the day because she knew we had some fun things in store (although at one point she said, "Can I just stay home with you on my birthday mom?" Unfortunately that is where I drew the line. :) I reminded her we would be there to eat with her in just a few hours and off she went.

This is her last year on her 6th birthday....
And this is this year....wow she has changed so much in the past year. She has lost and grown back her top two front teeth and her hair has grown out so much (her choice). She looks so much more mature.
We went to eat lunch with her at school and took her Subway, at her request. We also brought cupcakes to her class which she picked out and was so proud of!
This was the birthday crown she got to wear all day at school....
Her class sang to her before we passed out the cupcakes and she was very embarrassed but loved it too.
When she got home from school we met Lolli and Pop at Chick-fil-a (her dinner choice) to eat, play and give her her gifts. Opening her gift from Lolli and Pop...
Her birthstone ring...
She also opened her gift from us...
We gave her an Ipod Touch so she can play games, listen to her music and watch movies. She had been asking for her very own Ipod and so she was thrilled!
Then she wanted ice cream so went to Yogurt Mountain and I was thrilled to try out the place because I have heard so much about it but never been. It was really good...I will definitely go back!
Here you choose your yogurt (all fat free)...
Then you add your toppings...YUM (and NOT fat free)!

After dinner and yogurt, we went to the hospital because as I mentioned yesterday, Jay's sister had brain surgery today and was put into an ICU room tonight. We went to see her and visit with Jay's mom and dad and try to give them a break of sorts. The surgery went well but she is being heavily sedated because she is in so much pain. She still has to lay flat on her back for 2 straight days in ICU and then they will try to start transitioning her to sitting up, getting out of the bed etc. She still has a long recovery so please continue to pray for quick recovery, rest for all involved, patience for Jay's mom and dad, and for them to be able to control her pain. We went down to the cafeteria to visit with Nonnie and Pop-Pop while they got some dinner and then we headed home late. Everyone fell asleep in the car and we crashed when we got home too! We were all exhausted!
Happy 7th Birthday Princess! We love you!
