Fun nights with friends

Tonight we had our buddies the Potts come over for some dinner and kid fun.  They are great friends because everybody in our family has someone close to their age and they entertain one another while we have some much needed adult time.  We look forward to vacation with them this Summer!

We had Pioneer Woman's Chicken Fried Steak and mashed potatoes along with some veggies.  Both PW recipes were delicious...I got them from her cookbook...worth a try!

Marybeth brought dessert and of course she got creative!  She made sugar cookies with homemade fondant dressing for the kids to paint with food coloring.  Lucy loved painting hers...

Since we couldn't make any of the local egg hunts on Saturday due to other plans, we decided to do one with our kids (6 altogether).   The kids stuffed the eggs and the dads hid them.  It didn't take long to hunt them of course but was fun nonetheless.

We saw this really cool idea on Pinterest so MB brought the glow sticks and stuffed them for an after dark hunt.  It was really hard to get a pic so I will just link to pinterest so you can check it out there.  It was so neat!  Very cool for older kids!  After they found all of them, they enjoyed throwing the glow in the dark eggs through the air like a football ha!
