Lasagna recipe



Our family's favorite lasagna (adapted from several others)

1 lb. ground beef
2 large garlic cloves
1/2 large onion
1 24 oz. jar spaghetti sauce, whichever you prefer (I use more I like mine saucy)
1/2 cup water
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 16 oz. cottage cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons pepper
8 lasagna noodles
2 cups (8 oz.) mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
salt to taste

Cook lasagna noodles according to package.  Cook beef and onions together until done then drain and add garlic, spaghetti sauce and water.  Combine egg, cottage cheese and pepper in a small bowl.  Spread 1/2 cup meat mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 pan then layer 1/2 of the noodles, 1/2 of the cottage cheese mixture, 1/2 meat mixture then 1/2 of the shredded cheese.  Then layer all 4 again.  Cook at 350 for 50 minutes then add parmesan cheese on top to serve.  Serve with salad and garlic bread.
