Turkey Day Eve

For Thanksgiving this year, we headed to Jay's parents Tuesday after we both got off work to start the holiday early. Alot of his family that is normally not in town came in this year so we were so excited to see them! Brayden and Karis were most excited about seeing their cousin Scout that they haven't see in years. But Lucy was especially excited to see her grandmother Lucy. See???

The boys spent alot of time playing both of their favorite game...baseball! This is Scout our cousin who is 6 and lives in North Carolina.

Karis watching the boys play baseball...

And they spent lots of time in Grandmother's backyard climbing the trees...

...and laying in the grass...cause that's what Mississippi girls do, right?

Besides preparing for the MOST AMAZING Thanksgiving feast ever...she loved holding, feeding, talking, rocking her great-granddaughter Lucy. After all, they have a special bond because of their name (my Lucy was named after her)...

More baseball....

That evening, the kids loved watching Jay prepare the turkey that he was going to smoke all night. He put an injectable in it and the kids got a kick out of the fact that the turkey was getting a shot. Don't you remember this post when they all got shots last week? And Brayden was fascinated the "turkey didn't even cry!" Imagine that!

Nonnie and Lucy snuggled while the other kiddos oohed and aahed over the turkey...
