This is the first weekend we have all been home in an entire month so there was some much needed family time to be had today!
This morning Brayden went fishing with Jay on his day off and they caught a TON of fish. Jay said they caught nearly 45 brim (best eating fish) and he said there some that escaped from his trap...so I would say it was a successful fishing day! Brayden of course had a blast fishing with dad and they brought them back to the house to clean so we could eat them!
Tonight Jay and I had planned a "date" for the kids but the whereabouts were a surprise! They were excited to go and couldn't wait to see where we were taking them on our date! Karis even got dressed up all by herself for the big date (high heels and lipstick and all haha).
When we were driving there, we asked them if they could pick one place to go eat where would it be and they all agreed, "KYOTO!!" And that is just what we had in mind. There were cheers all around when we pulled up! :)
They always love the cooking show, fire and all, although I have to hold Lucy during the fire part.
Then we surprised them by taking them to a local play "Seussical." It was so cute and our children LOVE going to plays. They were pleasantly surprised and Lucy was so cute grinning and pointing during the whole play!
We didn't even know that our one of our neighbors (one of TWELVE children) was a star in the show! And she did a WONDERFUL job, very talented.
We truly enjoyed our activities of the evening but the company was even better. They were very sweet and thanked us for their "date." We will do this again very soon!
What a great idea having a date with the kids. Cute pictures.
