"I want to go fishing!"

Today Brayden came into the kitchen and was dressed like this: hat on, backpack on and fishing pole in hand and said to me, "Mom, when daddy gets done cutting down that tree, he take me fishin'!"  No one had told him this but he prepared this little story in his mind.  AND he walked around the house like this for 2 hours....waiting on daddy to come home.  So, needless to say, later on that day, Jay took him out on the tractor and to go fishing.  They didn't catch anything but Brayden came home with this amazing story.  "I caught a FISH!  A BIG FISH!  I jumped in that water, went way down there, and got it!"  We were laughing hysterically, knowing it was SOOO not true! But it sounded great!

And this is day 7 with "hand, foot and mouth" virus.  Believe it or not, he looks alot better today.

What is he doing here?

So I came into the kitchen to find Brayden doing this....
When I asked him what he was doing, he said, "I am shooting that fly!"  Who needs a fly-swatter anymore?  We don't!

That mean old virus "Hand foot and mouth"

Brayden has had this mean virus for almost a week now and although it hasn't bothered him one ounce, he looks terrible!  He has none in his mouth which is his lifesaver because he hasn't skipped a meal, naptime, or even playtime.  He is his little self with scabs all over his face, hand and feet.  He is now on an antibiotic so now it should just be the healing.  However, until he looks better than this...you will not see us in public!

Tonight Daddy played "horsey" with the kids...

He sure isn't acting sick is he???

Much needed rest and break

My mom has given me a much needed break over the past couple of days.  She kept the kids after Mimi's birthday party on Friday night and has kept them until today (I am picking them up sometime this afternoon).  I have spent most of my "off time" sleeping and resting but have managed to do a little cleaning too.  I have very little energy these days so I am having to take my chores in small doses.  Over the past 3 days, I have managed to clean my house and catch up some other things that have been put off.  It feels good to have it all clean although I know it won't last very long.

------------------------------------------------------

Due to upsizing our family and downgrading our budget at the same time, we have managed to sell one of our cars and bought another one since last Thursday.  We sold Jay's Honda Accord and bought a much cheaper '99 Honda Passport.  We are also in the process of selling my Honda CRV too because due to a new family member, we will no longer fit into it.  I have always said that I would never own a van, but the Lord has a sense of humor!  It looks as if we will eventually own one because we will need the extra room.

Brayden has also managed over the past week to develop a virus called "hand foot and mouth."  Every kid gets it once and thankfully Karis has already had it!  It started off as a few ugly bumps and has gotten worse and worse.  He looks like he has chicken pox although he doesn't.  My mom did take him to the doctor yesterday and they had gotten infected so they gave him an antibiotic cream and an oral antibiotic as well.  He looks terrible, but acts normal.  Not a hint of being sick...he is such a trooper!  Hopefully he will be better soon!

Happy 89th Birthday Mimi!

Happy 89th Birthday Mimi!  Doesn't she look great for 89?  Tonight we had a family party for her to celebrate the big day.  I had to snap some pics of her and the kids!

The kids are playing around on Mimi's walker.  They were taking a "ride."

This is Mimi and her 4 children: (L to R) My dad in front, Aunt Mary, Mimi, Aunt Pat, and Aunt Carol

We love you Mimi!

I have created a monster!

Since I have NOT been cleaning very much lately, I guess my children are cleaning in my absence!  If you can't tell what Brayden is doing here, he is cleaning out the jacuzzi jets with a Q-tip!  Yes, he has seen me do this.  I have created a monster!

Karis playing while Brayden is Q-tipping.

Ok, so he got tired of cleaning!

This too shall pass....

Due to the pregnancy and extreme exhaustion and sickness morning, noon and night, there are MANY things at my house that are left undone these days.  Laundry piling up, floors dirty, no made-up beds, dishes that sit in the sink for 24 hours, toys everywhere, the "bare minimum" meals, etc, etc, etc is the story of my life these days.  For those of you that know me well, you know this is OUT of my character.  However, these days...I just don't care.  Somedays I would rather lay on the couch to keep from getting sick than to make sure my "chores" are done for the day.  I have been taking naps most days (don't normally do this) and even falling asleep after the kids go to bed at 8:00 p.m!  I know "this too shall pass" so I am not overly concerned.  BUT it is a little frustrating to say the least.  I am almost 8 weeks so hopefully I will be coming out of this funk within a couple of weeks.  Just understand...for this reason is the lack of blogging these days. You understand, right???
