Happy 35th Anniversary!

Today my parents celebrate 35 years of marriage!  I am so very thankful for them and their love for each other and commitment to one another for all these years.  I am thankful for their example for all of us.

We love you mom and dad and hope you have a wonderful anniversary!
***This picture is a couple of months old and they have both lost tens of lbs. since then. They both look great since their weight loss.  So proud of them!

We're leaving on a jet plane...

Kids are officially handed off to Nonnie's house for a few days (and then to Lolli's) and Jay and I are outta here!

Jay and I are headed to Phoenix, Arizona for the Southern Baptist Convention...a working vacation of sorts.  Although it is work for him, it is vacation for me because I don't have to fill sippy cups, clean house, do laundry, make up my bed, cook and so much more!  I look forward to getting to spend time with my hubs, go to some of the conference with him and lay by the pool and relax the rest of the time.

We are definitely not in Kansas Mississippi anymore! :)

Happy Birthday Uncle Jonathan!

I am behind on blogging but I wanted to include this...

Thursday, my little brother Jonathan celebrated his birthday (little because he is 10 years younger not because he is shorter than me...he is 6' 6")!  Since he now lives a couple of hours away, we were not able to see him but will celebrate when they come home in a few weeks.  His wife Jenna made it a very special day for him and he even got to lead someone to Christ on his birthday!  I am so proud of the man that he has become!

Love you Jon-Jon and hope this is the best birthday ever!!!

Master bathroom/closets overhaul

This last week I spent a lot of time starting my Spring cleaning.  I usually start with one room and clean everything in it...baseboards (some painting if needed), wipe down doors, cabinets, reorganize all, vacuum, clean fans, blinds, windows, light fixtures etc.  I started with my closet and took everything out and reorganized all of it.  However I noticed a BUNCH of black scuff marks on the walls and that bothered me so I thought I would do some touch up paint.  However, I didn't realize that it wasn't the same color because the paint looks different when wet.  So I was left with a bigger mess ugh!

So my few hour project turned into a 3 day project.  I had to go to Walmart and buy new paint and paint the whole thing.  Then the next day I was able to put everything back in it with pretty walls.  :)

My makeshift bracelet/necklace organizer.....

Then I did Jay's closet...

My bathroom was this color and it is 5 year old paint job and I don't like the color anymore so I decided to go ahead and paint it too.

I painted it neutral khaki just like my closet and I even let Karis and her friend Ellie "help" me do this section.  Of course I had to paint over it but she had so much fun.

Those of you who deep clean, why is it that we don't realize how gross things are until we start the cleaning?!    For the record, I had never noticed this (and I am a clean freak!) on my ceiling partly because the light is always shining so it is hard to see but take a look at this nasty thing!
GROSS!  There was more dust and dirt where that came from but no longer!  My bathroom, bedroom and closets are spic and span and now it is time to start on another room.  Here's to having a clean house!!!

Newly painted bathroom...

Our day in iphone pics....

Today Daddy stayed home with the younger two kiddos while I spent the entire day with this sweet girl....

Jay had given me some money to spend on clothes for Mother's Day and today I wanted to go spend it!  So Karis came with me to "help" me and we went shopping at the outlet malls (Gap and Old Navy).  Karis was showing off her new flip flops and shades while we were having lunch at Sonic.  I know I am biased, but she is so stinkin' cute...just sayin'.

Then we had an appointment to get our hair done.  It has been FIVE months since I have had my hair cut or colored so it was way past due.  Karis needed a trim too but also picked out a feather too.  She and my stylist talked me into one too ha!

My friend Destin (Ax's mom) had given me a gift certificate to get a pedicure at the end of school so Karis and I went to get pedis.  This kind of thing is so fun to do with Karis...memories that will last a lifetime!

She picked out a VERY lime green haha.  Check out her bright feet!

I loved spending the day with my oldest.  She is such a sweetheart, beautiful on the outside, but more importantly, beautiful on the inside. :)

Love you sweet girl.

Spring Cleaning!

I have been MIA for the past several days due to the fact that it is Spring Cleaning days at our house.  I am cleaning out every drawer, corner, shelf and closet.  I do this at the beginning of every summer and it has taken from morning to night to catch up on everything!  I have to admit I kind of enjoy it and I REALLY enjoy the result when it is all said and done!  I have even done some painting too so it is taking me longer than normal.  See you when I can find a way out of all the piles haha!

Eight Years!

Today Jay and I celebrate a wonderful 8 years of marriage!

We didn't plan a "date" per se, however we will spend lots of time next week without kiddos.  We have some fun things planned!  I am so excited about getting to spend special time with my hubs...it's due time!

We agreed no gifts this year, however he outdid me as always and snuck home with these beauties...

Since we had kiddos, we decided to eat at home and grill out some steaks! We enjoyed a nice meal together!

Love my hubs with everything I am.  He is my best friend and love of my life.  I am beyond thankful that the Lord gave me him to live life with.   He is the greatest!  Looking forward to growing old and grey with him!
