Swimming and Brayden's last t-ball game

Today we got to swim in our pool for the first full day yet this summer.  It isn't near as much fun for the kids or I without friends, so we invited just a few!  :)

Today we (me, Karis, Brayden, and Lucy) swam with Amber and Jake, Marybeth with Ellie, Ethan and Eli, Monica with Mackenzie, Maddie, and Morgan, Christine with David, Robbie with Kate and Kara, and Destin with Axton.  In all there were 6 ladies and 14 kids!

Ethan

Axton (whom Lucy greeted with MANY kisses and hugs...guess she has really missed him this last week!).

Ellie, Mackenzie and Kate

Amber and Jake

Eli

Sisters Morgan and Maddie

Jake totally fell asleep in the float!

It was a blast of course!

After some rest and a nap by some, we headed over to Brayden's last t-ball game.  Nonnie and Aunt Jessie came to watch and Brayden was sooo excited they were coming!  Here is his team pic...

Brag alert....Brayden's coach came to us and mentioned that he believes Brayden has alot of talent.  He asked him to be on his competitive Fall team this Fall to be worked with.  Jay played high school and college baseball so he was beyond excited!  We are so proud of Brayden for working so hard and look forward to him getting to grow in his sport.  :)  So we have a few weeks off and then will start practicing for the new team.

We went to Chick-fil-a with Nonnie and Aunt Jessie before they had to head back home.  We were so thankful they got to come!  Oh and they gave Karis some feathers and she was quite proud! :)

Fun, HOT Sunday

Wow I blinked and the day was gone already.  Did I mention it was a sauna here today, because goodness gravy it was...almost 100 degrees and HUMID!

We started the day off by going to church.  I had nursery so I didn't get to go into "big" church but enjoyed my little 2's and 3's to the fullest.  After church we came home to find Lolli and Stephanie at our house.  Long story short (I'll save the MANY details for Lolli to tell) they were supposed to leave from an airport close to our house today to go to Destin for a week of vacation.  Apparently, there was a mistake and they got to hang out with us for the afternoon until their other plane left out tonight.  We went and ate lunch at Blue and White. If you are a local, you know they have some GOOOOOD food.  I had never eaten there before but it was so me great country cookin' (fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, mac n' cheese, greens, green beans, homemade yeast rolls, peach cobbler and so much more)!  YUMMY!  Then we took Lolli and Steph back to the airport for their evening flight.

We came back home to rest just for about an hour or so and then left to go to our annual church picnic.  It was sooo fun but SOOOO hot.  It was almost miserable the first few hours because it was so hot but we had a great turnout and the food was delicious too, but the company was the best!  And if you'll believe it, I didn't take a single picture (shocker I know!) except for this one pic of Brayden on my phone.  He was so sweaty and dirty I just couldn't resist...gross!

Then we decided to do our Couch to 5K run tonight instead of tomorrow morning.  So me, along with Mary Beth, Amber and Destin all came over to run while Brandon and Andrew went swimming with all the kiddos (and Clay and his crew)!  Wow such a fun day but I am worn out!  Looking forward to a fun swim day tomorrow with lots of friends!

A birthday party and swimming

This morning we celebrated with our friend Jake at his 2nd birthday party.  Jake and Lucy were actually due the same day and he ended up being born 3 weeks later (Lucy was 2 weeks early and Jake a week late).  We were happy to celebrate with him today!

He LOVES trains and the motorized train was coming under him so he just lifted up his legs every time ha!

I don't know how the girls found the sand box but they did!

And the boys played baseball of course!

This is the birthday boy and his dad Todd.

Somebody enjoyed their cupcake!!!

Laughter is good for the soul!

Jake opening gifts...

The birthday boy!  Isn't he adorable?!

Birthday boy and momma :)

We had a fabulous time!  Happy 2nd birthday Jake!!!

After the bday party we came home to jump in the pool because it has been in the upper 90's this week.  It is MISERABLE outside unless you are in the water!  The kids were dying to get in our pool for the first time this summer!  The Potts joined us too!

Look out....Lucy's got a gun!

Eli learned to swim with floaties all by himself today.....HUGE achievement!  Go ELI!!!

While we had the kids at the bday party this morning, Jay and Brandon had been cooking BBQ and doing a mission's project in the city.  They had some leftover so we had BBQ for dinner and stayed to play a while.  ALL of our kids (Potts and ours) were asleep and in bed before 7:00!  We had some tired kiddos!  Momma is not far behind!!!

Indoor swimming

Today me and my crew met Marybeth and her 3 kids Ellie, Ethan, and Eli, Whitney, Amy and her 2 kiddos Story and Meila and my mom met us there with Nick, Timmy and Emily at the Aquacenter.  It is a local indoor pool with cool water fountains and things for kids.  The kids all had a ball and we enjoyed the adult conversation.

Ethan and Eli, and sweet Meila too

Story and Lucy

Karis with the birthday girl Ellie (she turns 10 today!)

Emily and Lucy

You think she might have been a LITTLE excited? Ha!

Check out this cool place!  On the other side of that brown wall, there is an olympic size pool with high dives.

See these?  Well the kids (the older ones Emily, Nick and Timmy) were trying to decide if they were going to do it or not and I opened my big mouth and told them if they did, I would too.   Guess what?  They jumped.  I had to also.  EEEEEK!

Yep that's me.  That scaredy cat holding her nose as she jumped!  But I survived and even enjoyed it just a tad!  But I didn't do it a second time!  Did I mention the water was SEVENTEEN FEET DEEP?!

Then my kiddos were going to jump off the diving board.  The lifeguard (he was a hoot!) just took Lucy from me and said come on, let's jump off.  She walked right over and he held her hand while she jumped.  He let her dip her body in and then pulled her back up.  I was panicking but she was so proud!

It was a fun day!  Afterwards, me and mom came back to my house and we ate dinner and then we ran together.  I mentioned that I started Couch to 5K this week but I didn't mention my mom started it that day too!  I am sooooo proud of her!  She is NOT a runner and swore she never would but she can do so much when she puts her mind to it!  She is on Weight Watchers and has lost 40 lbs. and works out everyday (elliptical, shred, and now Couch to 5K).  Even though I had already done my run for today with Marybeth and Whitney, I wanted to run with mom since she hadn't done hers today.  So we made it through it and I was so proud of her!  She's da bomb!  Yah we are almost through with week one!  Anybody else want to join us???

National Running Day

Without knowing that today was National Running Day, I decided to start my Summer off right by getting back into a workout routine.  I am so tired of P90X and if I have to hear his voice one more time, I might scream something not so nice at him ha!  So I decided I needed something different, cardio and some weight training now that I have all this extra time on my hands, being off work for the Summer and all.

So a friend of mine and I decided to start the Couch to 5K using Robert Ullrey's podcast.  We loaded up the kiddos and survived day one.  Seriously, anybody can do this!  Since I felt like I needed some weight training also and the Couch to 5K is only 3 days a week, I decided to start the 30 day Shred too.  It is also only 30 minutes so I figured I could swing it.  It was a great day to start my workouts..on National Running Day!

Other than that, today Lucy and I hung out most of the day (Karis and Brayden still at Lollis).   She "helped" me clean the car inside and out, straighten the house and we even watched a movie and took a nap together!  She was being such a sweety and I really enjoyed time with just her today.  She has gotten to be so easy and fun!

Tonight we met up with Jay after he got off work and went on a date to Outback.  Of course, this little cutie tagged along...
